I thought my family vacation to Sun Moon Lake was going to be boring, but it’s turned out to be a fantastic trip. Today we rented bikes and rode about halfway around the lake, occasionally stopping to soak in the beautiful scenery. Later, we went to a cozy Italian restaurant, which overlooks the lake. Tomorrow we are going to take a cable car up the mountain to explore the Formosan Aboriginal Culture Village. Be sure to check out my Instagram posts.

這一段通常做個人及家庭的基本描述,簡潔說明個人成長環境、家庭成員、人格特質等等。常常出現的錯誤就是做隨手寫日記般的長篇大論,例如把家庭成員的個人背景也加進來寫。家庭背景不要過度描述,如果家人職業或家庭教育對於所申請系所或專業職位有緊密關聯或特殊影響,則做深入些描述,呈現這個關聯性。

During that time, I made many friends from different countries. I heard them talking about different things in their own countries. That experience makes me realize the importance of English as a global language.

I am lucky to be able to learn to play the piano as a kid. I have been playing the piano ever since. From piano, I developed interest in singing songs. School life is very valuable to me. Though I am not a top student in terms of school grades, I am good at many fields and consider myself a devoted and enthusiastic learner. Among the school subjects, I love science best and read English science report on a daily basis. As a result, I also do pretty well in English learning. I participated in several English speech and composition contests and won very some prizes. Also, I have been active in school camps, including those held by universities, and different kinds of workshops. I believe that extracurricular activities provide valuable opportunities for me to accumulate valuable experiences and broaden my horizons. I learn important intrapersonal and interpersonal skills from these special activities.

My college life is colorful and rewarding. Though I am not a top student in terms of my academic performance, I am good at a certain subjects and skilled at a sport. The subject I like best is marketing. And I was able to apply what I learned to my last job as marketing assistant. I was chose the employee of the season two times for my performance. The biggest achievement I have ever had is to get an order for my company that was worth 5 million dollars.
When I was a college student, I enjoyed playing basketball very much. I still do now. I learned communication and negotiation skills from teaming up with others while playing basketball. After I graduated from college, I was in the jogging club. Other club members and I have joined several marathon races. When we had a marathon race, we had to get up early while most other teenagers were still wrapped in their warm bed. The determination to get out of bed is the first thing I learn from marathon. Patience is the second thing I learn from marathon because it takes a long time to complete a marathon race, without patience I may get exhausted half way.
Playing basketball and jogging long-distance have been my favorite recreational activities.

學員作業檔以及英語教練訂正檔都要呈現正確檔名。學員作業檔名就在作業文本頁面的左上角,例如E2STC1-1。教練訂正檔名是(作業檔名+空格+教練代號+R),例如E2STC1-1 SR,這樣可以清楚地在資料夾裡檢視訓練課程的每一項作業已經完成及訂正完成檔名前後同時呈現。
英語教練訂正作業時應該要使用電腦、麥克風及耳機,提升訂正聲音品質,可自行選用自己擅長使用的工具及APP完成訂正作業,以下為超凡遠距建議使用的APP:
本作業主要幫助學員提升閱讀理解力,因為是輸出中文,所以英語教練務必確定學員翻譯正確,措辭合乎邏輯,要求的標準必須高,但不必字字計較,要以整體邏輯合理為重。在訂正前,英語教練務必確認能夠完全理解作業內容。必要時可以參考超凡遠距參考檔。英語教練要提醒學員的常見錯誤:
本作業主要幫助學員提升英語口說能力,由於輸出的是英文,這對大多數的學生來講是一個比較大的挑戰,錯誤較多,因此不需要有錯誤就訂正, 但是必須要把握幾個重點,每項作業挑出3~5個重點錯誤提供建議即可。
本作業是聽跟說的雙重訓練,作業目的在於提升學員聽力及口說能力。訂正重點在於提醒學員是否將聽進來的資訊正確且合乎邏輯的說出去,不必100%重新輸出,但是必須至少60%以自己的方式,合乎邏輯的輸出,且聽眾能夠聽懂。提醒重點如下:
寫作WT及TW的目的在於提升學員使用文法、單字、片語的精準度,英語教練訂正的時候 盡可能嚴格,以幫助學員在最短的時間之內建立使用單字文法的正確觀念,以及句型結構的精準度。
寫作作業WT筆譯或TW主題寫作的訂正,通常以兩種方式來進行:
英語教練可以再利用輔助APP加快作業速度。利用Google的語音辨識系統,使用麥克風將大量文字訂正內容先用語音辨識系統取得文字稿,再複製貼到小畫家或Smooth draw上。
ESP全文英語說寫輸出訓練就是<專業文章聽說讀寫的訓練>,是練習<連續兩分鐘以上的專業資訊分享>。ESP是English for Specific Purpose的縮寫,也就是以特定領域進行全文輸入輸出訓練,目的是強化個人專業領域的競爭力。學習者可針對財經或科技進行全文輸入輸出訓練。每次訓練可以幫助學員提升三種能力(1)閱讀理解、(2)專業知識、(3)英語競爭力。
